Greetings and welcome to a space where you can let loose and make the silliest faces with complete freedom!

I’ve been a registered dental hygienist since 2016 and have expanded my expertise to include a 200-hour Yoga Teacher certification in 2023, followed by a specialization in Myofunctional Therapy in 2024.

Committed to lifelong learning, I continually seek out new courses and experiences to deepen my understanding of the human body and enhance overall health and well-being.

When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me enjoying the great outdoors. Whether I’m gardening, practicing yoga, hiking, or planning our next backcountry adventure with my spouse and dog, I cherish my time spent in nature.

I’ve designed specialized programs to address Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders, aiming to investigate and resolve the root causes of pain or discomfort. My mission is to assist both children and adults in improving their breathing habits and restoring strength and proper function to the muscles around the head and neck.

Origin Story

You might be wondering why it's called Funny Face, it's a simple answer. When I started my own myofunctional therapy journey due to my own jaw & tongue muscle concerns, I realized that I couldn't complete the therapy without holding back giggles. Inspired by the exercises that have you making the funniest faces, Funny Face Myofunctional Therapy was born! A space to embrace the giggles and improve your health simultaneously.

A Passion for Oral Health Education

Throughout my years of practicing dental hygiene, I've always had a passion for educating clients on oral health and how it relates to overall wellbeing. Seeing their eyes widen and eyebrows furrow informed me that this is not being discussed enough and I need to do more. I assess every airway, tongue, tooth & jaw and ask investigating questions to the client such as, "how well do you sleep at night?, Have you noticed symptoms of grinding and clenching?, Do you breath through your nose or mouth?, Do you hear popping or clicking in your jaw joint? Do you bite your cheeks or suck your thumb?" etc. My questions are informative but I wanted to provide more services to help with these symptoms and parafunctional habits.
